Well, sorry for the long time between drinks. I haven't really been keeping up to date on my blogging, so sorry for those who have been checking back here.
So life here in Sydney has finally settled down. The novelty of living in a new city has worn off, and I've finally settled into a bit of a routine. I have to say that I had my doubts about living in Sydney, but it's slowly growing on me. Having said that, I certainly hope I don't turn into one of those "Sydney Types" that everyone loves to hate. If I do, someone please kick my butt.
Last week was fairly hectic, I had to put in shedloads of hours to make sure we hit one of the deadlines for one of our clients. As powerful as these COGNOS OLAP cubes are, I'm just wondering if there's a better way of doing this BI work. Hmm, food for thought.
It also coincided with my cousin's wedding, which meant that my parents and some of my relatives from Indonesia flew in to town. It was good catching up with the oldies, and I ended up taking them down to the Auto show. I now want an M6, 378kW from 5.0L of V10 power.... sweeet... Anyway, photos are here. I wasn't a total boof head though, I did take them to some touristy stuff like a ferry ride to Manly, even though I slept the whole way there and back.
As for my cousin's wedding, it was kind of cool. I hadn't seen them for years, and it was good catching up with them. It's surprising / scary that so many people my age are getting married and starting families. Is that a hint that maybe I should be growing up too? I also felt sorry for the groom, who probably overcooked his festivities a little bit. He probably won't be remembering his wedding night for the rest of his life (assuming my cousin doesn't kill him first).
