Hi everyone
Well, I´m writing this halfway through the tournament. so far, we´ve played for 2 and a half days, and I´ve been loving it. There have been lots of really good games, and the 5 a side format encourages lots of hucks, hammers and layouts which has been awesome. So far, the Australian pickup team has been doing quite well, beating Great Britain, USA, Spain, Columbia, Scotland and Brazil, but we´ve been worked by Germany, Austria and a suprisingly good Belgium team. Having said that, we´d dearly love to finish ahead of GB, which has a lot of their players from Finland and because their British, and because they have a kiwi on their team.
The food here is excellent, and the food portions are ginormous, almost to the point of American servings. The parties have also been awesome, although getting back at 4:30 this morning with a 10am game was interesting. No repeat of Brisvegas at half time though, but I can tell you the whole team was struggling this morning.
Anyway, the team´s gelling quite well for a pickup team, and it´s helped with some cool heads at the back with Leon, Helen and Tim giving the rest of us quality throws to catch.
right, gotta go get ready for our next game.
I hope to post some photos soon.

Singapore Rocks!!! It's so warm compared to back home, it's K.O'd my cold in no time. At Changi now leeching some free Internet at the airport, but I'm looking forward to hitting London really soon.
Mum, I'm ok.
Over and out...
Today I sent my first mass e-mail out to pretty much everyone that I know. Just reminding them that I'm going away, and double checking that I have everyone's e-mail down correctly. Had a pretty good response so far.
Anyway, so far, nothing *bad* has happened to me today on Friday 13th. Still have another 3 hours to go though...

OK, so I'm now in the final week before I head off on my trip. I spent a good couple of hours teaching Richard how to run the WA Ultimate website while I'm away. I'm actually interested to see what he does with it, and what direction he intends to take it.
It's probably the first time when i've handed someone the reigns to something that I've created. It's actually quite a scary experience. I've spent a fair amount of time over the last 6 months working on that particular project, so it almost feels like giving away a part of me. Having said that, it feels good, knowing that I'm leaving it in capable hands.
So, I'm finally preparing all my documentation before I leave. Slowly packing my bags. It will be sad to leave Perth again, but I know I'll be back soon, and I can't wait to see what life has in store for me.
Signing out till next time,
Derek
